Lynn Zsidov-Steiner

My work is deeply inspired by the rugged beauty of the Lake Superior region. My oil paintings are not only shaped by my connection to nature but also by my background in graphics, fine art, and environmentalism. Studio work reflects a limited palette and often historical pigments inspired by many Old Masters. Plein air painting is also a way to express nature through art, and I love the way oil paint can render a scene with such depth and luminosity. Often incorporated into my paintings are pigments made from locally sourced materials that have been ground and mulled into oil paints. As a committed life-long learner, I continue to refine my observation and painting skills.
