Between the Bluffs Plein Air Festival 2026
We are delighted to welcome artists and visitors to the 2026 plein air festival in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Now in its 13th year, this autumn tradition brings artists from near and far to capture the beauty of the Driftless region. From October 2–15, artists paint on location throughout the area, creating original works inspired by local landscapes, river views, and historic architecture.
The festival also includes Artist Demonstrations on October 10 and a Quick Paint Competition on October 16, offering the public a chance to experience the creative process up close.
The celebration culminates with the Opening Reception and Awards Night Show on October 16 at 6 PM at Gallery 1802. Guests are invited to view freshly completed paintings, meet the artists, and enjoy the creative energy of the event. Sales continue on October 17, offering an additional opportunity to collect original artwork.
